Rajiv Gandhi International airport at Hyderabad commences the operation of its new interim domestic arrival terminal at the air side of the airport.
The new terminal spread over 4000 sq mtrs will handle the arrival passengers disembarking from the aircraft arrived at the remote stands. The capacity at the new facility is expected to handle nearly 50% of the arrival traffic, that translates to around 30000 passengers a day. This new building on the air side has 4 baggage carousels to carry the baggage of the arriving passengers.
With this terminal RGIA will have a total of 7 baggage belts that caters to both international and domestic arriving passengers. The new terminal is connected to the main Passenger Terminal Buillding-PTB by 2 sets of 45 meter long Inclinators to facilitate the faster movement of passengers to the Exit point of PTB.
