Spicejet grounds its fleet of 3  Boeing 737 Freighter Aircraft

Move follows the advice of Israeli Aerospace Industries IAI that assembled and reconfigured these freighter aircraft.

Budget Airline of India, Spicejet grounded three of its freighter Aircraft- all Boeing 737 variants following the advise of IAI, who configured these planes. The advise follows the dtection of a manufacturing defect the company noticed during its routine inspections of a Rigid bar, the key component of any freighter plane to with stand the stationery gravity of a cargo bulk of the aircraft during take off and landing process.

IAI, in a statement released to the press said that the planes will be pressed into service only after the rectification of the defect component and subsequent certification by the Civil aviation Authority of Israel. IAI is the Israeli government owned entity that has so far reconfigured around 50 aircraft as Freighters to airlines across the world.
